The training and selection of our instructors is at the heart of the DLGA philosophy.

And in golf, training doesn’t come any more challenging.

We demand a consistent professional standard throughout our entire global network of academies. This means that whatever location you choose to complete your instruction programme, you can expect the same uncompromising level of excellence in teaching and service. 

A hand-picked team of the world’s best golfing instructors
Before becoming certified, our instructors must successfully complete a rigorous one-year training programme. Supervised under the personal guidance of David Leadbetter, and Worldwide Director of Certification Kevin Smeltz, trainee instructors must pass a series of tests to meet DLGA’s exacting standards. Final certification depends on the satisfactory completion of a specialised coaching workbook. 

To ensure that our instructors remain up to date on the latest techniques and teaching methods, they receive regular personal contact and ongoing lessons from David and his teaching staff at our headquarters at Champions Gate, Florida.

All DLGA instructors are required to apply for yearly re-certification. The result is a 60-strong international team of highly qualified and resourceful instructors, each dedicated to helping you get the absolute best out of your game.
